This oversized wall circle is handcrafted by master artisans from Tzintzuntzan, Michoacan, a small lakeside town in the heart of the Purepecha region where the popotillo weaving tradition has been alive for generations. Originally made as seasonal figures sold at Easter and Christmas markets across Mexico, the craft evolved into increasingly complex forms including large decorative circles and stars that have won regional folk art awards.
